Public Notice regarding the City of Jacksonville’s and Groundwork Jacksonville’s anticipated submittal for CDBG-Mitigation funds

Groundwork Jacksonville and the City of Jacksonville anticipate submitting a project proposal for funding from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Rebuild Florida Community Development Block Grant-Mitigation General Infrastructure Program. To be eligible, applications must request a minimum of $2,000,000 but will not be approved for more than $175,000,000 in projects.

Groundwork Jacksonville and the City of Jacksonville seek funding to acquire needed land for the ecological restoration of Hogans Creek. The restoration will mitigate flooding, improve water quality, create habitat for fish and wildlife, provide access to the creek and create more recreational opportunities.
