Bright blue skies and cool fall breezes graced the third annual VyStar Emerald Trail 5K/10K on October 22. More than 450 runners, walkers, cyclists and supporters gathered downtown at the Duval County Courthouse for the event that took participants along the LaVilla Link of the Emerald Trail.
Congratulations to everyone who completed the race, but especially to our top female and male finishers overall: in the 5K Run, Kali Miller finished with a time of 21:23, and Ethan Sharp finished in 17:46. For the 10K, Erica Reinsel finished first with a time of 47:35 and Errol Daniels was the top male coming in at 41:33.
According to Kay Ehas, Groundwork Jacksonville CEO, “The Emerald Trail 5K/10K has become our signature event that we look forward to each year. Not only does it raise needed funds for Groundwork, 
but it also introduces Jacksonville residents to urban neighborhoods they may never have visited before. When complete, that is what the Emerald Trail will do, connect people and communities.”
